Grande Police  & Candy Gears Limited makes donation and presentation to the home

On Friday, December 11, 2020, a local business Candy Gears Limited made a presentation. The donation included grocery items, facemask and a personalized cup for each child. Mrs Melissa Ragoo-Wright ( CEO and founder of Candy Gears) in collaboration with Community Police Officer Persad and Mr Garvin Lezama, has joined forces to bring a smile to our children.

While at the home Officer Persad also made a lecture to the children on Respect and Responsibility. We are grateful to Mrs Ragoo-Wright and the officers of the Sangre Grande Community Police Unit.

Home receives a donation of chairs from local business

It's the Christmas season and the Children of the Home have been blessed to receive a donation of chairs. The partnership of Candy Gears Limited with the Sangre Grande Community Policy Officers was collaborating to help the home with chairs. According to the Home Manager, Mr Ishwar Mahabir of Advance Carriers Limited was contacted and upon realizing the chair purchase was for a Children's home decided to donate all 17 new chairs!

We are grateful to Mr Mahabir and his company. Making the presentation to the home were three Sangre Grande Community Police Officers and a representative from Candy Gears Ltd.

Ms Sangre Grande and Choice Optical provides free eye exams for children

On Wednesday Oct 14, 2020 Ms. Sangre Grande, Chanel Glasgow in partnership with Choice Optical in Arima provided all the children of our Home with free eye examinations. From this initiative, two children will be fitted with eyeglasses.

This initiative is part of the charity effort for each local Ms. Trinidad and Tobago contestant. The winner of the local competition will represent the nation at the Ms.World Pageant.

We thank Ms. Glasgow and her team for their support. Let's support our very own Ms Sangre Grande! She certainly has the love and support of the children in our home.


Recent Fundraiser

A barbeque fundraiser was held on August 7th 2020. In spite of some challenges such as order deliveries, this was hard work and fun combined. The home raised a bit over seven thousand dollars. This fundraising project was in aid of home improvement and general operations with particular focus on electrical repairs. Another fundraiser is carded to be held soon. More to be provided soon.
